Purpose of AWAC Radio Club:
Purpose

 

 1.) EDUCATE Scouts about amateur ham radio usage.

 2.) ENJOY amateur radio usage.

3.) ENABLE Scout advancement with merit badges.

4.) ENCOURAGE Scout growth & community involvement.

5.) ENGAGE Scouts in meaningful public service.

Education & enjoyment of amateur ham radio use by scouts & scout families, including genuinely useful, productive & meaningful public service:

Scouts are encouraged to participate in emergency preparedness drills, civil defense & activities that support the USA Homeland Security Department, including: city, township, county & state government, law enforcement,  fire prevention & EMS services, storm awareness, public safety & welfare protection, personal first aid & family safety, public & emergency communications & service, within all legal limitations & amateur radio protocol, per ARRL & FCC regulations.
